2010 Nissan Cube is IIHS Top Safety Pick
Thursday, January 7, 2010

The brand new 2010 Nissan has a long list of standard safety features, including the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS), life saving seat-mounted driver and front-passenger side-impact supplemental air bags, and roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags for front and rear-seat outboard occupant head protection. The Cube also offers standard front-seat Active Head Restraints, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with Traction Control System (TCS), along with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA).
The IIHS Top Safety Pick award recognizes vehicles that do the best job of protecting people in front, side, rear, and now rollover crashes based on good ratings in Institute tests. Winners also must have electronic stability control, which research shows significantly reduces crash risk. For the first time, IIHS had introduced a roof strength test to measure protection in a rollover for winning the Top Safety Pick award this time.
