"A modern space, yours for living." This is how Nissan likes to define one of its primary minivans, the Quest. With the Quest, the Japanese manufacturer has exhibited its quest for excellence, innovation, and all round power, subjecting it to a bevy of innovations since its launch in 1993. In the first decade of its existence, the Quest was manufactured for Nissan by Ford. The model, currently in its third generation, received its first major redesign in 2004. Since then, it has been based on the Nissan Maxima. Its major competitors in this segment are the Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, and the Dodge Grand Caravan. It retains most of its core features for this year.

Power and performance

The 2009 Nissan Quest is offered in four trims Base 3.5, 3.5S, 3.5SL, and 3.5SE. Each of these is given an award-winning VQ35DE 3.5-liter, DOHC 24-valve, V6 engine that has a solid output of 235 horsepower and 240 lb-ft. of torque. This engine runs on a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS) and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. For this front engine, a front-wheel drive is given across all Quest trims. The 2009 Nissan Quest offers 3.5S Driver's Power Package; Fold-Away Seat Package; Navigation Package; Panasonic DVD Entertainment System; 3.5 SL Panasonic DVD Entertainment System; and 3.5 SE Panasonic DVD Entertainment.

Body and styling

For the exteriors, the 2009 Nissan Quest gets a choice of 16-inch and 17-inch wheels. Among other features for the exteriors are cornering lights; automatic on/off headlights; fog lights; dual power outside mirrors; dual sliding rear doors; power sliding rear passenger-side door; rear sonar system; RearView monitor; roof rack side rails; front UV-reducing glass; and rear privacy glass. Among the features and amenities that form comfortable interiors are an information center; air conditioning; dual zone automatic temperature control; carbon-activated in-cabin microfilter; power door locks; cruise control; remote keyless entry; tilt steering column; variable intermittent speed-sensitive windshield wipers and rear wiper; dual front map lights; lamps on demand; driver's side sunglasses storage and center dash storage; lockable glove compartment; high-capacity coat hanger; and eight cup holders.
